toxic fat
Does the body purposely make fat, and hold onto fat, in order to store toxins? Some have speculated that the body may very well be smart enough to actually put on weight – put on extra fat – to create a place to store heavy metals or toxins it has no other place to put safely. This could be one reason a concerted diet and exercise program fails to work – the body is protecting itself from damage due to toxin exposure. This could be one reason the first few pounds are far easier to lose than the last few.
